Blacken Blues Theater of African-American Life is a nonprofit community theater whose purpose is to raise the social conscious of society by sharing the African American experience. We provide a forum for upcoming playwrights and emerging artists regardless of race or ethnicity.  Help create the world you want to live in.  Become part of the Blacken Blues experience.

This is an open invitation to become part of the “CONSCIOUS THEATER PROJECT” November 9th – 12th at Margo Jones Theater in Fair Park. The Conscious Theater Project is a festival of performance art that addresses social injustices manifested by race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. We hope to motivate a new generation of social activists through theater, dance, film, music, or any other art form. Our mission is to reconnect America to the human spirit by using creative expression as a social movement.  So whether you’re a film maker, actor or hip hop dancer, we need your help in creating the world we want to live in.
